History of the GHTFA
The GHTFA Touch Football season starts around the beginning of May and runs until mid to late October.
There may be up to 3 Divisions of 8 teams A-B-C and teams are ranked at the end of each season based
on final standings for thier division. (Ranked 1 thru 24) Top 8 ranked teams play in "A", middle 8 teams
play in "B" and the bottom rank teams play in "C". "A" Division teams usually are the most competitive,
with "B" Division being in the middle and "C" Division being more recreational. At the end of league games,
playoffs start with each division having an upper and lower round robin bracket to determine their champion
and runner up.
Teams are established generally through friendship or mergers. New players interested in playing in the
league submit thier contact info and past experience to the GHTFA and then it gets posted on our website
for teams to contact. Teams or players interested in entering a team in the GHTFA are invited to submit
their request in early February each year and then required to present thier team at the annual AGM.
(contact info on website) They need to provide a solid plan that provides sufficient players, financial
support and a commitment to participate in the ongoing operating functions to maintain the GHTFA.
(outline provide on website) From that the GHTFA members accept or decline thier request.
Games are scheduled every Sunday morning at various parks throughout Burlington starting at 9:00am,
2nd games at 10:30am and 3rd games starting at 12 noon. There are no games scheduled on long
weekends. Additional games may be played on weeknights at 7:00pm. Teams submit special requests
at the AGM for dates their team can not play.
A fall Masters division starts in late August and runs until late October. Registration starts in
June for non-experienced and experienced players 35 years of age or older. Interested new players
can submit their contact info to firstname.lastname@example.org
