Terms of Reference 

  • The Bolla Bowl is a Tournament held annually on the Saturday before Super bowl

    • One day tournament
    • Game duration 50 min.
    • Guarentted 3 games per team
    • Entry fee normally $150
    • First choice to Association teams
    • COB does not book fields in the winter. Usually use 2 fields (MMR or Pearson) which need to be marked with pylons all around (GHTFA owns lots of pylons to use), and goal post pads. Borrow pads to setup before 1st games, collect @ end of day & return to teams they were borrowed from.

  • Dec 15th – Send email to all touch contacts to promote Bolla Bowl.
    • Include rules of play,
    • team registration form & insurance waiver that all players must sign before they play
    • Notify Webmaster, and Social Media Director for inclusion on webiste and all social media channels

    • Collect registrations & entry fees…pay referees…prize money to AA & A Champs

  • Jan 2nd – contact Gator Teds to arrange headquarters area,
    • 24 XL Bolla Bowl t-shirts for winners
    • food & beverage deals for players
    • Set schedule and email to teams participating (prefer even # of teams for scheduling)
    • Send  schedule to Webmaster and Social Media Director for updates to all chennels
    • Communicate with RIC re referee needs

      • $20 per ref / game
      • use 1 ref per game
      • 2 for championships
      • usually provide each ref with $25 bonus for beer & wings @ Gators

  • 10 days prior to tournament contact Burlington Post Sports Editor Kevin Nagel to arrange photographer.
    • Communicate with the photographer at the fields who may afterwards email photos to our Bolla Bowl coordinator to assist in identifying names of players in photos to be published.
    • By quickly emailing these photos to team reps involved in those games we can properly identify these players.
    • A summary of game scores, as well as touchdown scorers, interceptions etc. in the two championship games need to be emailed to the sports editor promptly following the Bolla Bowl to be included in their sports section coverage
    • These results also need to be forwarded to our webmaster for posting on website.
    • The results shall be sent to the Social Media Director to post on all Social Media channels
    • Referees to collect insurance waiver form signed by all players prior to each teams 1st game and give to the coordinator for file.
    • Photos - Take photo of all teams…random shots, championship trophy presentations @ Gators after tourney. Send photos to webmaster to post on GHTFA website
    • Collect all game scores, and update the pairing of teams moving forward based on round robin results etc. Send all info to webmaster.
    • Collect garbage (bring bags) from around fields throughout the day and recycle where possible. Take garbage away as City does not empty garbage receptacles in winter.
    • Make trophy presentations @ Gator Ted’s to winning teams, and present t-shirts & cash awards to them. Annual trophies are kept all year round @ Gator Teds and are not to leave the bar. Trophy plates need to be updated annually with winner’s names.

  • Post Tournament (Within a week)
    • Prepare an post tournament report :
      • challenges
      • how they were addressed
      • outcome
      • anything else required for next year
      • Submitt to the Executive for review and action (if required)
